Matt Blostein is a multifaceted musician based in the Bay Area, excelling as a composer, producer, saxophonist, and educator.
With 20 years of experience in the vibrant NYC jazz scene, Matt has has recorded with Aaron Parks, Thomas Morgan, Charlie Hunter, Ingrid Jensen, Shane Endsley (Kneebody), Jacob Sacks, Mike McGinnis, Tim Collins, Vinnie Sperrazza and performed with Ravi Coltrane, Sean Jones, Tony Malaby, Joel Frahm, Brad Shepik, and many others. His musical journey includes touring worldwide with iconic ensembles such as the Maynard Ferguson Big Bop Nouveau and has performed in venues such as the Montreux Jazz Fest, North Sea Jazz Fest, Thailand Cultural Center, Kennedy Center, Ravinia Center and many more.
Currently, Matt serves as the Co-Chair of the Music Department at Cabrillo College, and the Director of Music Technology and Recording Arts.
His compositions and productions have graced various platforms, including over 600 TV shows, original music for two Nickelodeon series, a theme for a major network news program, music for the Super Bowl and World Cup, mobile games, and many commercials and advertisements.
He has an undergraduate degree in Jazz Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, a graduate degree in Music Technology from the University of Valley Forge, studied orchestration at the Mannes School of Music, film scoring with Rick Baitz and game audio design at Berklee College of Music.
